If You Missed It Two Years Ago, Catch “Joy” Over The Holidays

Looking for a movie that gives a realistic glimpse into inventing, innovating and manufacturing?  Why not hit Netflix and catch Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro in 2015’s “Joy” – inspired by Joy Mangano, the inventor of the Miracle Mop.

“Once it (your idea) is in the air you had better start moving. If you don’t at least start the path, and take the first step in the direction of where you want to go, what you have is a 100% chance of getting nowhere. You will always say – for your entire life – ‘I had this great idea,’” Joy Mangano, President and Founder of Ingenious Designs, told Forbes Magazine.

Joy didn’t have an easy time getting to the place where her mop would become a household name, and when she arrived at the level, she had an even harder time meeting demands when the mop’s notoriety skyrocketed.

Some sources say Joy Mangano is now worth $50 million – and her product line has expanded, along with the challenges.

Check out “Joy” – it’s the perfect season to catch it if you missed it two years ago. Jennifer Lawrence won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of the entrepeneur – and you’ll be energized and proud of American manufacturing and human perseverence after watching it.
