Small and Midsize Manufacturers Voice Strong Opposition to Pritzker’s Plan to Hike Taxes on Manufacturers

SCHAUMBURG, IL – At the start of veto session in Springfield on Tuesday, Governor Pritzker announced he wants to make up the state’s projected $267 million deficit by taking away cost-saving benefits provided to manufacturers in the Working Families Tax Cut, or One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The Technology & Manufacturing Association (TMA) and their small and midsize manufacturer members strongly oppose making manufacturers pay the price for Springfield’s overspending.

SCHAUMBURG, IL – Small and midsize manufacturers voiced their strong opposition this week to a bill under consideration in Springfield that would impose a 1.12% tax on employee paychecks to fund a state-run program to give employees up to 27 weeks of paid leave (up to 18 weeks of paid family or medical leave per year, plus up to 9 additional weeks for pregnancy).
