YOUR VOTE MATTERS!

In the upcoming municipal election on April 1st, you have the opportunity to vote for those who will lead our local governments. Municipal officials are the elected leaders closest to the people who levy property taxes, set water and sewer rates and other user fees, and enact ordinances that have a major impact on residents and business operations.

With so much at stake, it is vital to learn about the races and candidates who will significantly impact your pocketbook, your family, your job, and your employer.

Your vote has never been more important!

Who we elect will determine:

  • Whether more jobs or fewer jobs are available for workers like you.
  • Whether employers have the ability to increase wages and benefits for you and your colleagues.
  • Whether taxes are going to go up even more or go down for working families like yours.

When you vote, you should know each candidate’s positions on these key issues because they have the biggest impact on your business, your job, and your family:

  • Lowering Taxes
  • Reducing the Cost of Doing Business
  • Supporting Local Business’ Expansion Efforts
  • Assisting with Zoning Issues

PAY ATTENTION TO WHERE CANDIDATES STAND ON THESE KEY ISSUES—THEN VOTE!

TMA will help. TMA has sent candidate questionnaires to the 129 contested candidates for mayor and village president in the 56 TMA member communities in northern Illinois. By the end of February, we will provide you information on where candidates stand on these key issues so you know which candidates support manufacturing in your community.
